Eyelashes grow downwards due to the direction of the hair follicles on the eyelids. The follicles are angled in a way that causes the lashes to grow in a downward direction. Additionally, the growth cycle of eyelashes, which includes phases of growth, transition, and shedding, also contributes to their downward growth pattern. This natural growth direction helps to protect the eyes from debris and sweat by diverting them away from the eyes. **

Tomatoes bend downwards due to a phenomenon called geotropism, which is the plant's response to gravity. The cells on the upper side of the tomato plant's stem elongate, causing the stem to bend downwards. This bending allows the tomato plant to grow towards the ground, where it can access water and nutrients more easily. Additionally, bending downwards helps the tomato plant to support the weight of its fruit as it grows. **
